To kick off the month, starting September 15, we will release a set of discussion panels here from a diverse set of speakers. Read more about each of them below! Their unique personal and project stories highlight issues in our unique border region and how the Latino influence in our region provides vibrancy to our communities.

Hear about how art can be integrated into landscape architecture in a discussion with Rocio Gertler, Landscape Architect of LPA Design Studios. She will share how her work in landscape design reflects the unique attributes of each project site and architecture.

In response to the political and racial turmoil of the past few years, artist MR Barnadas of Collective Magpie shares her ongoing art series Poetic Exploration of Race Survey. Both artwork and experience to probe, jostle and possibly better understand a wider range of the race/ethnicity and class experience of people in the US today.

Explore how the joy of food /drink and culture brings communities together in a discussion with architects Barbara Leon and Carlos E. Hernandez of Heleo Architecture. They’ll share their latest community centric designs for breweries and dispensaries across the border.

Finally, join us in a discussion with architect/developer/artist, James Brown, FAIA as he shares his vision for Build that Park! A campaign for a truly united bi-national international friendship park in celebration of the park’s 50th anniversary.
